The Third Milestone in Our Journey of Change

In 2008, the success of its first two centers inspired Shiksha Prayas to expand to Siwan, finding dedicated partners in Sunisha and Virendra Raheja, who were eager to serve their community. With instrumental help from volunteer Ritu Srivastava, the center quickly established itself by approaching local government schools, leading to a surge in enrollments. The couple, along with associate Naresh, initially taught core subjects to students in grades 6 through 8, later adding higher grades as the students progressed. A unique aspect of the Siwan center is the strong, personal bond between teachers and students, with many early graduates now volunteering their time to mentor new students. The center also fosters creativity by celebrating festivals and its commitment to empowerment is evident in the many first-generation achievers who have gone on to successful careers in various fields.

Sunisha Raheja

Sunisha Raheja has been leading the Siwan Centre since October 2008, teaching English with dedication and passion. Always eager to learn new things and skilled in artistic work, she inspires students through both academics and creativity. Her journey is marked by several achievements, including topping her college in B.Com. (2001), being the First-Year topper in M.Sc., securing second position in B.Ed. (2010), and receiving the Best Teacher and Motivator Award (2018). Under her guidance, the Siwan Centre continues to nurture motivated, confident, and capable learners.

Simran Devi

Simran Devi joined Shiksha Prayas in April 2025, teaching Science and English to Classes 7, 8, and 10 at the Siwan Centre. With a strong interest in reading books, she continuously expands her knowledge and brings fresh perspectives into the classroom. Her thoughtful and engaging teaching style helps students build confidence and curiosity in learning.

Subhash Chand

Subhash Chand has been part of Shiksha Prayas since January 2020, teaching Mathematics and English at the Siwan Centre. With a keen interest in playing cricket, he brings energy, discipline, and enthusiasm into his teaching. His balanced approach helps students strengthen their academic foundations while also encouraging teamwork and confidence in learning.

Jyoti

Jyoti has been with Shiksha Prayas since August 2024, teaching Maths and English to students of Classes 7, 8, and 9 at the Siwan Centre. With a strong interest in reading books, she brings focus and dedication into her teaching, helping students strengthen their concepts while encouraging a love for learning.

Shiksha Prayas

Shiksha Prayas is a 24-year-old non-profit organization committed to empowering underprivileged children in Haryana through quality educational support. Operating from four learning centers located in Kanhai, Taraori, Siwan, and Polar, we offer free tuition—from Grades 4 to 10—tailored to help government school students bridge learning gaps and stay on track with mainstream education. Over the years, our initiatives & endeavours have positively impacted the lives of more than 3,500 students.
